Mount Tabor's Matt Debole and North Forsyth's
Bobby Mack (#231) on the first lap. Debole soon
pulled away to win by 12 seconds.(15:33 to 15:45).
The following month, Debole placed 5th and Mack 11th
at the FootLocker National finals.

Bobby Mack at the same point on the 2nd lap. The next
runner finished 12 seconds behind Mack . . .(it was
his younger brother Eric.)

2nd - 5th places in the Girls 3-A race:
(L to R) 9th grader Heather Goldstein, Weddington (2nd, 20:03);
Eastern Wayne junior Jamie Vogt (5th, 20:18);
Gastonia Forestview junior Monika Pietzer (3rd, 20:07);
North Buncombe sophomore Emily Pomfrey (4th, 20:09).

Summer Graham of Princeton ran 20:07 for second place in the 1-A race.

The boys 2-A race takes off.
