Reynolds and South Caldwell joined the conference, and Crest moved out. * 2009, the conference became the Northwestern 3A/4A and had Alexander Central (4A), Fred T. Foard (3A), Hibriten (3A), Hickory (3A), Watauga (4A), St. Stephens (3A), South Caldwell (4A). * 2013, Patton (3A) joined and Alexander Central left. * 2017, the conference added Alexander Central (3A), McDowell (4A) and West Caldwell (3A), and Patton and Fred. T. Foard left. * 2020, West Caldwell left. * 2021, the conference added Ashe County (3A), and Hickory and St. Stephens left. * 2025, the conference became the Northwestern 6A/7A conference and had: Alexander Central (6A), Freedom (6A), McDowell (7A), South Caldwell (6A), St. Stephens (6A) and Watauga (6A).
